SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

Savant Degrees is looking for a kick ass full-time System Administrator to run the key component of a data centre project. You will be working closely with our CTO in architecting and implementing a web hosting solution for data recovery.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage a cluster of servers
  • Architect hardware and software components for web hosting solutions
  • Perform mission critical backups and storage
  • Work closely with systems architect to design and implement scalable data storage and recovery solutions
  • Introduce strategic improvements to extract higher performance from existing hardware
  • Be on call 24/7 for and respond quickly to emergency situations

 

Requirements

  • 3-5 years prior relevant work experience preferred
  • Possesses experience in managing Windows and/or Linux servers
  • Possesses experience with either Juniper or Cisco networking equipment
  • Willing to be on call 24/7 for emergencies and able to respond within required time constraints
  • Able to travel to data centre in Changi to perform maintenance and upgrading work when necessary
  • Interest in cloud computing is a plus. Experience with setting up cloud computing infrastructure is an even bigger plus.
  • Agile in picking up new technologies
  • Resourceful and tenacious in solving problems

 

Opportunities for Advancement

Future developments in the project include developing a Disaster Recovery Centre for our clients. You will play a key role in leading a team of consultants and system administrators to architect the DRC. Other future projects include developing utility-based web hosting solutions.
