Olay is one of P&G’s multi-billion dollar brands, specializing in skin care products. We worked with Olay to create an app which allows their Beauty Counselors to provide sales managers and the headquarter with real time on-the-ground sales information.
Savant Degrees conducted multiple in-store ethnography studies, as well as extensive stakeholder interviews with Olay’s Beauty Counselors, store managers and top management. With these insights, Savant Degrees worked with Olay to create a user-centered, digital retail intelligence solution, which enabled their Beauty Counselors to provide real-time on-the-ground sales updates (including inventory, promotion and personnel updates) to sales managers around the globe. This real-time information, combined with a highly intuitive and powerful analytical dashboard, allowed managers to make swift and intelligent business decisions.
Since its launch, the Olay Insights App has demonstrated an increase in in-store productivity, sales, as well as intelligence gathered by the headquarter. This enabled Olay to make solid strategic decisions and carry out brand-aligned sales initiatives on a daily basis.
Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Deputy Prime Minister & Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, mentioned Savant Degrees in 2013 during his speech at the World Entrepreneurship Forum about our collaboration with P&G. Here is an excerpt from his speech:
“… For example, Savant Degrees, a local start-up specialising in digital solutions, was selected by P&G to develop and pilot a digital tool to improve the productivity of its Olay Beauty Counsellors across the Asia-Pacific, starting with Philippines as a pilot. Savant Degrees will develop a web application to be used in-store, to distribute promotional and operational materials and connect the Beauty Counsellors to their customer relationship management database.”
